How
to Catch Spring Fever
Did you know
A New Kind of House Inspection - Some buyers are now
requesting an energy efficiency evaluation, as recommended in the "EnerGuide
for Houses" report. Through various testing methods, an inspector
will examine and grade a home for its comfort and energy efficiency. Sellers
can also have their home tested, with the intention of achieving a passing
grade for use as a selling tool.
· Cleaning With Dough - Museums use basic bread dough made of flour
and water to clean delicate areas covered with water based paints. By
gently kneading the dough over the surface you can pick up dirt without
using excessive moisture, which could remove or smear the paint.
· Check Your Pockets Please - According to the appliance industry,
microwave clothes dryers will soon be a major household energy saver.
Think Big
Get a couple of professionals to quote on a major exterior project you
might consider for the future. Even if you can't afford to do it now,
you will know how much to budget, and be able to set realistic goals for
later. You'll also get lots of great advice on how to proceed, and have
the inspiration to get outside more often in the early part of the spring.
Think Small
Visit a garden shop and take home a germination kit so you can start your
growing season right away. It's a great indoor project that gets everyone
thinking about the great outdoors!
