Comforting Fires
Outdoor fireplaces and "chimineas" are becoming very popular.
Made of cast iron, steel or clay (some with wheels and/or screens), they
allow you to safely start and control a smaller outdoor fire more easily
and efficiently than a traditional campfire dire. Units can be reasonably
priced, but check your local bylaws before you buy.
Musical Waters
The latest thing for hot tubs and personal sized "spas" is a
unique audio system. It attaches to the exterior of the tub in a watertight
case, and sends music (and vibrations) right through the tub wall, so
it comes to you from under the water! Sounds like an enchanting idea -
depending, of course on your choice of music.
Think Big
Reorganize your entire yard to take full advantage of its exposure ot
the sun. Relocate plants, trim trees and add flowerbeds according to the
sun's position throughout the day. Put morning, midday and evening blooms
in place so you get a "round the clock" display of flowers,
coming from every corner of your yard. You can even get a mature tree
moved to a more advantageous location, depending on its age and size.
Look up landscaping on the internet for more creative outdoor ideas.
Think Small
Here come the bugs! It's time to check all the screens in your home to
ensure there are no holes. If you should need to replace a door screen,
consider getting new flexible mesh, which stands up better to children
and pets.
